Decisions made
Curds, Cheddar and Gorge MAY have been happy living in a new home but we decided they should stay with us for the foreseeable futureā€¦ having made the decision, it was as though there was never any doubt this was where we end up...
And so we have progressed our goat plans as intended by buying in some Boer goats: meet Onion and Garlic, 2 years old and as from this evening, part of the Relaxed herd. They have come from Puddleduck Valley (fab name) - we were lucky enough to be looking for Boers at the same time as Phil and Mel were looking to downsize.
Relaxed at Home
Onion and Garlic kidded for the first time this year producing FIVE kids between them, 4 girls and a boy. We are hoping they will be similarly successful when they kid for us next spring!
Later in the week we are off to visit another goat herd to see if we can find a suitable billy for them. The challenge for us is then going to be to sort our land and buildings such that we can keep our breeding goats (Pickle, Onion and Garlic) WITH the billy and our non breeding goats (Curds, Cheddar and Gorge) WELL away from him!!!
