Sun shields and wind breaks
Here is proof that our lovely poultry wind breaks ARE being used, although in this case, they are being used as sun shields against a surprisingly warm autumn sun. Today’s weather has been utterly gorgeous with unbroken sunshine for much of the day and virtually no wind.
Relaxed at Home
Banana and her three charges plus Grape the Drake posed beautifully for this rather cute family shot. At just under four weeks old, the ducklings are now about half the size of their mum, still very fluffy but with their first proper wing feathers starting to show.
And talking of ducks, we now have planned the pond we wish to build in their paddock. The work won’t start till next spring/ summer as we are too wet now. It is very exciting because as well as creating a pond, we will also be using the water from the stable roof to fill it and so hopefully, helping to drain the land!!!
