Pepper joins the Relaxed herd
Meet Northlew Fargo (or Pepper now he is officially part of the Relaxed herd). Born back in February, he comes from a long established herd in mid Devon with a fabulous pedigree and a high health status. In this photo he sooooo has a smile on his face!!!
Relaxed at Home
Our plan is to allow Pepper to breed with all four of our girls giving us some 100% Boers to sell as pedigree stock, cross breeds from Pickle to sell as pets, leaving Curds’ kids to raise as meat for us. Under no circumstances can we keep any kids from Curds, even as non-breeding animals. Curds herself is now nine and as such her breeding years are quite limited anyway now, especially as she does suffer from feet and joint problems at times, although bizarrely not as severely as her daughters did.
We are still reeling from the loss of Cheddar and Gorge but planning kids for the spring is a postive step forward for the goats, particularly as we know that our Boers are (touch wood) healthy stock whose pedigrees are vouched for!!!
