Ducks and puddles
As the weather gets wetter, and the puddles grow, so the happier the ducks get!! The early morning ‘dabbling’ sounds are rather gorgeous even if it means the ducks themselves are making a muddy puddle even muddier.
Relaxed at Home
The rather pretty female is one of the five we hatched after moving here. She is coming up for eleven weeks old and is in fact destined for the freezer on Monday. We have a licensed poultry slaughterman coming to dispatch her and her four brothers, our three six-month old turkeys and various cockerels and poults hatched in the spring. It is slightly ironic that we lived in Cornwall for seven years and failed to find anyone to slaughter and dress our poultry for six out of those seven years, and now we have moved to Devon we have found one from CAMBOURNE: Cambourne of course being in Cornwall and quite far west!!
Jack needs to decide which poults are to go, some as mentioned, have started laying eggs and we don’t want our white or blue egg layers to end up in the freezer for a start!! !
