Off-colour!
Sorrel seemed a tad under the weather this morning and did not finish her breakfast – quite an unusual and in her case, a worrying event. Her temperature was 39.8 degrees so top end of normal and her tummy definitely ‘rumbleth’. Also, her poo was pat-like again and very moist. As the day wore on she seemed to get better and she tucked into her supper quite happily! The moist poo is worrying though because it is a sign that her digestive system is playing up again, despite her being on her low grain diet and the ‘goat balancer’ supplement. We will get some pro-rumen to see if that helps and go from there. (Photo from October.)
Relaxed at Home
There is still no sign of her coming back into season yet (officially due from 12th) but strangely, Onion seemed to be in season again today – sort of – Carlos made a half-hearted attempt at mounting her so not quite sure what that was about!! The goats have been inside since Carlos arrived as we cannot let them all out to free range in case Carlos mates with Coriander. Indoors they can stay together but separated by gates – we tried having Coriander and Tarragon in a field shelter on their own. They basically screamed for hours and then worked out how to climb over the hurdles and coming running back to the barn!!!
