A missing duck!
Sadly, there was no sign of Orange this morning and so our fears were confirmed. She either flew off or became breakfast for the fox who undoubtedly will have been hanging around since his attack on the geese on Sunday night. There was no sign of any feathers and so we will never know for sure what happened!!! This is only our second loss since moving here (we lost our original Banana last year when she wandered off during the day with a duckling) and so we still count ourselves lucky when we have so many birds that are totally free range.
Relaxed at Home
It's still gutting though and we wonder if we might need to get the alpacas to spend some time with the poultry and so spread their smell around the area in an effort to put the fox off!!!
The geese meanwhile are doing really well. Barbara's wing is less droopy and we have given them their paddling pools now which Tom and Margo here are modelling beautifully!!!
