Frosty morning
This has been a very rare site this winter: a frost!!! It was indeed as beautiful as it looks. The alpacas mind you were a little nervous about going out this morning when they saw it although, in the end it had all but disappeared by mid morning and we were back to the squelch.
Relaxed at Home
We keep being told (by the BBC weather reports) that we are in for a cold spell. That would be oh so nice. The only downside is that the grass will stop growing if the temperature falls to less than five degrees. Actually what we need is a cold spell to freeze the ground and then dry break up all the mud and then to rapidly move to a warm spell where the grass really starts growing again!!!
The current plan (hope) is that if we do go cold (currently to happen Sunday onwards) we will think about getting the sheep and alpacas back into the 4-acre field and hope we can then leave them there till spring!!!!.
