Chocolate Orange!
Last month we did a swap with a guy in one of the nearby villages: we got one of his chocolate male Muscovys and he took one of our black females. We were pretty chuffed at this and even more chuffed that 'Orange' has settled in so well. He has buddied up with our remaining youngsters from this year (5 females) although we don't really want to keep them as Grape is their dad and we won't be able to stop him mating with them when they are all together. We will therefore need to sell them in the early spring but hopefully with our remaining four females: Berry, Apple, Banana and Pear, Chocolate and Grape can 'share' and we hope then get some fab colours!!
Relaxed at Home
In true Muscovy style, scenes like this are quite common at the moment: mid paddock conversations with lots of hissing and neck stretching – all very amicable!!
