Devastated!!
Very sad news: this morning we found Ben dead in our potting shed. We have no idea how or why she died but when we found her she had obviously been dead for a while. Her mouth and nose were bloody and our thoughts are that maybe she was hit by a car on the road, managed to get back into the garden and the shed but then died of her injuries.
We are so upset at the thought of her being in pain and alone when she died and hate the fact we don’t know what happened. It is heart breaking!!
Relaxed at Home
We are missing her so much! We don’t know what, if any impact, her absence will have on Nay - they slept together during the day but as far as we know did their own thing outside. Ben was always more of a wanderer!! Cats don't demonstrate their feelings towards each other in the same way as dogs do.
We are going to miss Ben so much. We are going to miss how she curled up with the dogs on the sofas and stole their beds and even at times, the prime spot in front of the fire. We are going to miss how she ably made her way through the dogs’ legs at feeding time, despite their best efforts to waylay her. We are going to miss saying to them all: 'Leave Ben alone!!'
She got more cuddly as she got older and enjoyed a lap cuddle as much as soppy ole’ Nay. She also had a fabulously loud purr!!! It is so so so sad!!!!
