Mrs White!
Mrs White is limping and she has in fact been limping for a while and we have no idea why. The first thought with a limping sheep is scald but when we examined her, there was no real smell or redness. Her feet and hooves were actually in great condition. We then wondered about an abscess but although we pressed all round the hoof in question, there was no reaction, suggesting no pain, suggesting no nasty abscess below the surface. Next up was a sprain??? But again we felt no heat, no swelling, we manipulated the whole leg and she didn’t seem to mind and again showed no sign of distress or pain. We gave her a shot of pain relief/ anti-inflammatory medication and did a follow up shot but didn’t feel it made much difference.
Relaxed at Home
The limp is no worse but it isn’t really any better. She gets around fine and even runs but obviously it is not great to be limping all the time, especially when pregnant. We will probably have to chat to the vet if things don’t start improving!!!
