Huge excitement, we have our first goose egg of the year, laid by the gorgeous Gloria. We have to forgive her that it was laid in a totally unsuitable (although beautifully built) nest outside in a completely unsheltered spot where, if it rains again, it will be saturated... But hey ho, minor details!! We have seen Sylvester mate with one of the girls but of course until the geese start sitting on a full clutch we will have no idea of fertility... We moved the egg into the aviary part of the goose stable in a hope to encourage Gloria and Guinevere to lay in there instead: that is, in the dry, warm, safe and rat-free enclosure that we specifically built for them!!!
