Deluxe accomodation
The goats most definitely approve of their new quarters. Coriander, Sorel and Tarragon are pictured here curled up together in the middle of the area, all chilled and sleepy!!
They are such an incredibly close family, when they rest, they almost always rest together. Garlic and Onion are nowhere near as tactile, although they are very bonded. We wonder whether this is a breed 'thing', Curds was equally close to her daughters Cheddar and Gorge, although none of them were pure AN.
Relaxed at Home
We are wondering whether to keep one of Pebble's kids this year so she too has a 'family' companion. She is the only goat that doesn't have one and we wonder whether it would help her be a little less nervous of people. She is fine with Jack but literally runs away from everyone else. If we did keep one of her kids, it would probably be a male as we don't really want another female to breed from.
And why didn't we keep one of her kids last year?? Not sure! It was sort of the plan but we didn't seem to bond with her kids last year as much as we did with Garlic, Onion's daughter!!! At the end of the day though, we will just have to see what Pebbles has... it would be rather ironic if she only had girls!!
