Terrible news: we have lost Gloria, she took a turn for the worst last night and despite getting fresh meds and pain relief into her via the vets, her breathing became a massive struggle. We had the discussion about euthanizing her as we felt she may be suffering, but she took the decision from our hands and died this evening. She was exactly one year old and has left us a bit shell shocked it has to be said. We are slightly consoled by the fact she has left us with some goslings (we now have a total of eight: five boys and three girls) and also grateful they are with broody chickens just now as there is of course a risk that whatever Gloria had, is contagious. We will be monitoring the other three adults very carefully!!!
