With our fingers firmly crossed, we began to allow the goslings and duckings outside in the paddock today. We are pretty confident the goslings will be okay as they are a good size now but more importantly have two very protective chicken mums looking after them. The ducklings are another matter – they are not yet two weeks old and so we kept checking them and got them back in earlier than the rest. Sadly one had vanished but only at the very end of the day!! We see very few corvids in the poultry paddock but feel one might have been be the culprit We are in the process of sitting a fruit cage for the ducklings and goslings during the day – we obviously need to get a move on!!!
