We seem to have acquired another goat!! This rather sweet looking chap is Aniseed (nee Pepper) and we picked him up today from friends Brenda and Phil. And why?
Well, five days on, Fennel is not really showing any signs of settling and rather than spending his days grazing with the rest of the goats, he has been crying at the top of the paddock by the fence to the garden. We decided therefore he needed a pal of his own age, hence the lovely Aniseed, who amazingly is just three days younger!! Despite pretty much always selling our goats in pairs so they have a bonded mate to move with, we had underestimated how much Fennel was going to need a goat of his own age. Rather wonderfully, the two of them were drawn to each other in minutes and we had a much quieter evening as we shut them into the field shelter on their own for the night and then smiled with relief as they settled almost immediately!!
