Fennel Returns!
Very sadly, Fennel is going to have to go back to his breeder. The day we brought him home we discovered that one of his balls was not properly descended and so mentioned this to Graeme on Monday. His advice, regrettably, was NOT to breed from Fennel as the condition, known as Cryptorchidism is a generic disorder that can result in reduced fertility in both males and females. Whist Fennel ‘could’ successfully mate it would be a bit hit and miss potentially, and of course, he may well pass on this defect to his offspring.
Relaxed at Home
We are a bit gutted, as our Fennel’s breeders and we also feel a bit foolish we didn’t spot this BEFORE we brought him to live with us. We have, obviously, become quite fond of him and of course bought Aniseed specifically to be his pal!!
So, we are now on the look out for a new billy for the Autumn!
