It’s been one hellavu wait but finally, after the huge disappointment of finding out Napoleon was firing blanks, we now have our own turkey poults. These are from bought-in eggs from a local smallholder who keeps a mixture of Norfolk Blacks, Bourbon Reds and Bronze. We 'may' end up keeping a male or a female from this group – all will depend in part on how Edward behaves himself – currently he is NOT being the gentleman he should be... We have three that look like Blacks, five Bronze looking and a lovely looking golden brown one which we confess, is the one we have our eyes on... Just adore turkey poults.
All none are with 'mum' Napoleona in the barn. We are going to love seeing these guys grow up.
