FECs
When we last ran a fecal egg count for the goats, some came back with a borderline number of eggs per gram (between 300 and 400). We were advised to worm them but with the warm, dry weather (not good worm breeding conditions), not to be in a rush to do so.
Relaxed at Home
Today we decided to get them done (a week later) as don’t want numbers building up, especially in the kids and whlst the grass is long, meaning the goats may not be grazing quite as close to the ground, w are awaer of how even small numbers of worms can upset their rumens. Fingers crossed numbers are low again when we do a drench test in a week.
