Safely inside
After losing Napoleona to the fox, we knew we had to bring Banana into the safety of the stables. Luckily, the 'little house in the woods' was both portable and narrow enough to fit though the stable doors so we fought through brambles, nettles and thistles and carried the house, complete with Banana and what turned out to be a nest of 10 eggs, to the safe confines of the broody stall.

Other than slightly moving the actual nest to the other side of her house, Banana seemed pretty untroubled by her forced move. She has several more weeks to sit so fingers crossed for a trouble-free incubation and a successful hatch just in time for our Poultry course.
