Today was poultry dispatch day!! We now have four geese, five chickens and 11 ducks in the freezer. We had wondered whether Sylvester might need euthanizing but he seems to have rallied a bit and so for the moment he is still with us. We have nine geese left now, four males and five females: we don’t really need more than one or two of the boys but how to choose from the remaining three is nigh on impossible. We have therefore performed a perfect example of the classic smallholding decision-making: put off making a decision to another day!!!
