Banana took herself off into the 'house in the woods' some 35 days ago and today she emerged with four ducklings (4th one is out of shot). The house was actually moved into the broody area (for safety) and so the resulting ducklings are now safe too – we hope. There were 11 eggs in the nest but not all were fertilized and some stopped growing. We aren't at all worried about the numbers – we really don’t need any more ducks... (gorgeous though they all are) and we could have course have not allowed Banana to carry on sitting... year right!!!
