Rain!!
Another day of rain and the water really has nowhere to go anymore so it simply sits on top of the water that is already there. The rhea are definitley in the driest field (the sheep field) but a good half of that is very squelchy and the rhea themslves usually have muddy feet and ankles most days. And we really cannot see the sheep and alpacas going out any time soon. As we sit here now, the rain is hammering against the windows, the wind is howling against the walls and roof and we are just so greatful that we are warm and dry, the dogs and cats have their beds and their sofas and the livestock is secure and enclosed.
Flooding further north is horrendous: we simply have squelch and mud - we are very lucky!!! (and from this angle the poultry paddock doesn't look too bad at all!!)
