As we have now had two fairly dry days with sun and wind and the odd shower or two, we felt we could risk starting to get the fencing done for the pig (growing) area, in the vague hope we wouldn't sink in the wet, muddy ground or cause too much mess. We began at the top of the plot with the hardest job: digging a hole for the 6 inch gate post. We dug down to over 20 inches and then left the hole soaking in water as the soil was in fact very, very dry. The hope is that tomorrow we can then get the post banged in. We began the second gate post hole at the other end which was a lot easier as the ground is much wetter there.
Slowly, slowly we are making progress!!! It's very exciting!!
