Today we tried to distract ourselves - Jack spent time in the poultry paddock giving feeders and drinkers really good cleans and watching the chicks enjoying the sunshine! Many of the poultry love the green lane and often escape over the gate to have a wander up and for a while Katherine kept laying her eggs in a makeshift nest right at the top.
We have vague plans to plant some fruit trees along the right hand bank here. No doubt this will encourage yet more wanderings; poultry love pecking at windfalls and we are sure it’s great for them to have a bit of variety in their diet too!!!
