An evening gallop
An evening gallop by Jupiter and Neptune… a fitting end to what has been a glorious day: sunshine, blue skies and ground that is far less squelchy!!!
We do feel spring edges ever closer with yellow now visible on some of the daffodil bulbs and a few primroses out braving the cold.
AND, having seen no signs at all last summer, we spied a couple of newts in our pond tonight: smooth or palmate, we are not sure (probably the former). No sign of any frogs yet but we are sure they will come. We just have to solve the problem of having a pond full of fish that we don’t want: not exactly ideal in a wildlife pond!!! In other news the goats have all spent a very harmonious day in the poultry area, grazing and browsing and as the Cow Pad gets drier, Jack is now stealing herself for another round of shifting woodchip so we can top the Pad up!! |
