Since we last mentioned Pluto’s weight, back on 5th July, he has been a bit up and down with how much milk he has been taking. He can get easily distracted (or spooked) and so not drink much before rushing off to play with Mars or to investigate something. For a while he was only just managing to drink over a litre each day and on a couple of occasions he did not even manage that. We weighed him again on 12th and having had an average gain of 175g per day previously, he had gone down to 157g!! In the last few days, his milk intake has gone up again to a far more respectable 1.3/1.4 litres a day PLUS when we weighed him this evening he was 11.9kg which means his average daily increase this last week has been 200g!!! MUCH better. He is behind Mars though. When Mars was three weeks old he weighed 12.6 kg. At almost FIVE weeks, Pluto has not yet quite reached 12kg. We try not to worry too much, he is full of beans and energy and he is eating a fair bit of grass now as well. It does look as though we will be continuing our 7/8 times a day feeding for quite some time yet though!!!
The bond between Pluto and Mercury is, as this photo shows, hugely strong still!
