Wet, wet, wet
Oh look, an empty field...
And now look: it’s a full field shelter.
Yes, today has been vile: wet, cold, windy (although not as windy as it has been) and it’s been very hard not to think the sheep have made the right decision about staying under cover. The lovely part of this (and at this point Jack blocks out the fact it means more mucking out..) is that all three sets of animals: sheep, goats and alpacas, are very happy to share. There is something rather wonderful about seeing goats next to cria next to sheep, all chewing the cud, all happy and healthy and dry! Still, it would be nice to see the animals chewing the cud whilst lying outside on the grass in the sunshine, and not just because the grass does not need mucking out/sweeping up/raking.. (although Jack does rake the grass at times when it has been strewn with straw or spent hay from the hayracks… sad but true!.). They (the BBC weather forecasters) are promising a dry, warm sunny day tomorrow…. As the torrential rain hit the windows this evening, it was hard to believe such a change might occur. We shall see. |
