We wouldn’t normally give the cows hay in September but when we put them in the 3-acre field a few days ago, they demolished the left over hay from the alpacas so we took pity on them and gave them a new bale just for them…. It was gone within 24 hours!!! We aren’t going to do this every day but as the land gets wetter and the grass quality gets worse, we will need to supplement with hay more regularly and at the moment it seems that time is probably going to come a lot sooner than we wanted.
