All tucked up
We have found some fab new matting to line our field shelters with and the hope is that they should now remain much drier… We had holey mats in most of the shelters to aid drainage but in the most well-used shelters (mainly the double goat shelter) the ground was getting a bit too compacted and as such the drainage was not as good as it should have been. The new matting is solid although slightly porous and our hope is it will allow liquid to soak through but not allow it back up!!!
This is Onion and Shale looking very snuggled up on a fresh bed of straw with the new matting underneath. Another benefit to the solid matting is of course that it should be a lot warmer for the animals to lie down on.
Fingers crossed it all works well |
