To counter balance the sadness of losing two goslings yesterday, we also had our sixth lamb: a cracking ram lamb from Ness, born late pm and yet another new arrival whose entrance into the world we missed! Ness kept her imminent birth very quiet and we had no idea she was about to produce, although she was bang on her due date, day 145!!. By the time we found them both, the lamb was up and about, pretty dry and judging by the huge size of its belly, had already had a jolly good drink!! We love the very sweet 'fluff' of white on his head. So far, none of our lambs are identical which is great as last year we had real problems telling some of them apart!!
The rain really came last night so we penned mum and baby inside one of the shelters just to make sure they both stayed warm and dry. Today they have been out and about enjoying dryer and warmer weather!!
