The weather is really rather stunning at the moment, long days of sunshine and light winds and from this coming week, temperatures are on the up again, heading towards mid/late twenties!!
Of course in farming the mixture of weather is what is needed so we do actually need a bit of rain!!! (Never words we thought we’d ever say again after this winter...) And also in farming, each type of weather brings its own challenges so as well as battling red mite in the poultry stable, we are also having to fend off flies generally, inside and out! The cows in particular suffer with flies, and horse flies especially and so today we succumbed to chemicals and applied Spot-On to them. It should hopefully give them a bit of peace because aside from any actual bites they may get, it must also be really annoying for them.
