Great garlic
We planted our garlic sets back in January and until it got warmer and drier we covered the raised beds with a makeshift glass cover (made from bits of an old greenhouse left here when we moved, see entry 18th Feb). It helped trap a little bit of warmth whilst still providing ventilation but more importantly stopped excess wet that could have led to some of the cloves rotting.
We harvested this lot at the weekend and only lost one out of 35!! And they are whoppers too. AND grown entirely in our own muck!!
This for us is a year's worth, one bulb every one and a half weeks-ish- we eat a lot of our own humus.
