Our 25 chicks are all doing really well – they are coming up for three weeks old and are really beginning to show their independence. Counting them is impossible because there always seem to be two or three who are happy to wander off away from mum and do their own thing for a while. The other interesting thing is that they do swap mums a bit, something we see lot with the ducks but not so much with chickens. The photo shows one of the best sights you get with a broody mum and her youngsters: the communal dust bath: pure magic!!!
