Well, what do we have here: four rhea and no sign of a run in sight. That is because with the help of the geese (kindly pulling on the netting), our midday poultry check found all four rhea having a jolly good run around the paddock, having found a gap in the aforementioned netting and so sneaking out underneath. We were treated to our first ever 'rhea dance' – not too dissimilar to a John Cleese Fawlty Towers run (!!) and an hour later we found we were still watching them. Nerves took over though and with a lack of understanding as to how vulnerable they might be, we rounded them up and put them back in their enclosed space!! We do want them to free range in the main poultry paddock but just feel they are a tad too little still, maybe!!!!
