Out latest batch of chicks are just a week old but in having such a good mum, we are confident they can now be out and about in the main poultry paddock. We have a run set up with chick crumbs and water that only the chicks and the smaller chickens can get into it. That way, they can feed without getting too much hassle from other birds and just as importantly, the crumbs cannot get 'stolen' by the bigger turkeys and geese! They are an attractive lot this brood and so far all doing well. Mum is very attentive and very protective!!
