Well today we bit the bullet and moved the animals back into the 4-acre field. Truth be told, it may be a bit greener than the two 3-acre ones but the grass isn't any longer Nonetheless, all the stock rushed in and for several hours, heads were down grazing away! We have been um-ing and ah-ing about our grazing for a few days. Last weekend's rain did make a difference but with a week of hot weather since then, any initial growth spurt had been halted and we were then in danger of the new growth being scorched!!!
Rain is forecast again next weekend so fingers crossed, thing will start to pick up!!
The goats were especially happy as they have now got access to their browsing again - amazingly, the hedges are, on the whole, bearing up well.
