Today was another scorcher, although we are promised cooler weather and some rain by the end of the week. It was too hot for the sheep and cows who came down to the barn to tell us about their frustrations!! The goats spent the day in the hedgerow and the alpacas, as usual, just got on with life!! And then there were the pigs: arguably the least demanding of our stock the moment and, as the photo shows, able to look elegant, even when lying in the mud!! They are hugely successful at dealing with the heat and are really happy to spend much of their day laying around. If we had drier land in the winter, we would love to keep pigs all year round...
