Our family of 13 chicks are just brilliant. Mum, un-named, but almost definitely a great grand-daughter of Queenie, is a superb parent and has managed to keep all her chicks safe these last 5 weeks whilst still being wonderfully adventurous and exploring everywhere.
Nine of them are peas in a pod, although one of them, middle of the photo is now getting less like his siblings and developing some dark coloring – he also looks very much like 'he' will be a cockerel!!
We may well keep one of the females in order to continue our 'Queenie' line but we shall see.
