We have a good half dozen ducks who, every night, spend it on the roof of the stables. This is, it has to be said, typical Muscovy behaviour as they are excellent flyers and as perching birds, love being high. These same birds will often perch on the fence between the top paddock and the garden and then fly off just as the dogs come hurtling down the path – usually at the last minute, just to tantalise and tease! We love the fact the ducks fly, they obviously really enjoy it and it keeps them predator proof – to a point!!!
