Still standing
Our wobbly rhea continues to wobble but each day we 'think' we are seeing an improvement. Our research isn’t revealing any information that is helpful for our current situation but we are learning a lot about rhea and ratites in general.
One fascinating fact is that ostrich and rhea lay eggs between March and October – in keeping with other poultry. Emu on the other hand lay between November and April!!
Why??? Logic says that is a daft time to be sitting on a nest of hatching eggs, but obviously for the emu it isn’t!!! We will continue to monitor and keep our fingers crossed and keep faith in mother nature!! W |
