Checking over the corn
Corn time is traditionally just before bedtime, providing the birds with warming fuel for the night. In the summer they need less than the winter though, as obviously the nights are not as cold and so less 'fuel' is needed. We do feed ours all year round, just giving less in the summer, as aside from the fact the birds love it, it also gives us a chance to check them all out. When numbers get more than just a few, it can be hard to notice every bird every day, but corn time can provide a chance to see them all togther and so spot any potential issues.
Luckily, ill health in our birds is rare but it always pays to be vigilant....
