Since deciding we will be taking Onion's two wethers to the abattoir this Friday, we have of course been trying very hard not to spend quite as much time with them – we ought of course to be spending more time with them but such is the difficulty of our relationship with our goats. When the lambs are born, they are destined to be either sold on or to go for meat and we usually have no qualms about which direction the individual lambs go in. It's somehow different for the goats: is it their characters, the fact we aren’t as interested in goat meat as lamb (although our interest in meat per se is definitely waning), the fact they get so tame???
It's probably all three and more... it’s going to be another hard Friday that's for sure..
