Today was Jack's birthday and in true Smellie/Chidgey style we stayed at home and had a 'normal' day – but what a day: we had dawn till dusk sunshine, a light wind and the kind of temperatures where short sleeves were back on the agenda. We took a leisurely walk around the fields with the dogs and considered our good fortune in living in such a beautiful part of the country, surrounded by all our amazing four and two-legged beasties (although we were a little disappointed that none of them offered to do their own mucking out today).
