End of an era
It's the end of an era. Queenie Bantam is no more.
I found her in a nest box this first thing, still slightly warm 😕. As is often the case with poultry, cause of death unknown and she was fine yesterday....
Queenie was approximately seven/eight years old and leaves behind daughters, granddaughters, great granddaughters and great great granddaughters. She was my smallest, tamest chicken, best friends with Mr Buff my Orpington cockerel (six times her size) and a fantastic broodie and mum. I have 37 other chickens but the stable felt very different tonight without her...
