Quick but efficient fix
A lot of the time on our smallholdings, things that go wrong with the infrastructure, or items that need fixing, usually require time, effort and often money to sort them properly (drainage, leaking roofs, broken fencing etc). BUT sometimes, a quick fix really does work or a 'temporary' solution turns out to still be doing the job several years later.
So the drain in the picture below was as useless as a chocolate teapot in that all the water running down the path above, took great delight in totally ignoring it, and instead flowed straight under the door into our poultry stable. Enter David with his angle grinder and ten minutes later there were two grooves that caught the water on its way down and then channeled it back towards the drain. Job done, no more wet stable floor!!! |
