th: Normal service has been resumed. Thanks to Katherine Lockett-Clark for these utter beauties!! |

th: Unbelievable skies at the moment This was our morning walk around the smallholding today!! Hard not to feel inspired and uplifted with sights like these! |

th: Hard to resist (and she knows it...) |

th: Our own rugs Another photo session this week, all in readiness to update the shop on our website with a few more of our own rugs in between the commissions!!! (It's a slow process at times.) It was lovely to have some sunshine to do this. So, more alpaca rugs from David and Shetland rugs from Jack, all made with fibre from our own flock! Couldn't be more proud of our six alpacas and 13 sheep!! |

th: Scary lettuce Is it possible that we have the only chickens in the world who have no idea what to do with a hanging lettuce? And may even be scared of it? Four hours later it was still hanging there untouched!!! |

th: Bum in the air When Buzzard goes off to seek his maker (not for a while yet we hope), I hope that he finds a huge barn full of hundreds and hundreds of bales of straw. A better description of his ideal heaven would be hard to find!! He's approaching the start of his 14th year with a spring in his step and his bum in the air!! |

th: Downsizing Fail No 4 🤣🤣 Meet Sunflower and Sesame: Soay/Hebridean in origin and hopefully in lamb to a rather delightful Romney Marsh lad called Rodney! We already have 'Chips' from this flock, a bottle baby we took on two years ago who is the tamest, friendliest sheep we have ever had (and ten points if you can see the link with the names 🤣🥰). If you like the look of these two, the whole flock is currently available (including pregnant ewes, last year's ewe lambs and wethers plus the delightful Rodney himself) - Jenna Carter is the person to PM with any enquries). I am very much looking forward to having lambs on the holding again and to adding these fleeces (and the subsequent ones from the 'white' lambs to be) to our current mixed flock of Badger Face, Shetland, Coloured Ryeland, Jacob crosses and Tesswater Longwool crosses. Am already planning the rugs! |

th: Cleanest fleeces ever! Have loved working with these Bluefaced Leicester X fleeces. The white (crossed with an Exmoor Horn) seriously shines whilst the brown (crossed with a Jacob) has the most fabulous range of shades from almost black through to a delicious fawn. Both rugs are fluffy, very soft and full of curls. AND virtually every last bit of wool was used from these fleeces, even the shortest fibres were caught up in our 'rustic' spinning! They were also the cleanest fleeces we have ever worked with, containing so little VM (vegetable matter). We hope the client is as happy as we are!! |

th: The first one We have our first emu chick! 'Fred' is not quite 24 hours old in this picture and just starting to get a bit of strength in his neck muscles and hold his head up. He is still working on how to control those rather huge feet and thick legs. We have been surprised at the difference between emu and rhea chicks. By now, a rhea chick would be standing up straight, head touching the top of the hatcher and calling like mad for his siblings to hurry up and join him. It's been a long 51 days for Fred waiting for Fred to emerge. Here's hoping for 'Harold' to join him very soon.... (Names are temporary, I am sure we will come up with better ones...🤣) |

th: The wonderful Robin Sound on for the delicious sound and sight of this gorgeous robin singing his/her heart out for me!!! |

th: And then there were three: Fred, Olive and Harold! Hard to believe that these guys, currently small enough to sit in our hands, will one day be able to look down on us!!! 😳🥰 Emus are huge characters and, handled well as youngsters, should grow up to be affectionate and inquisitive - we are looking forward to the journey!! |
