| We are lucky enough to have a large, light, downstairs front room here at Cadbury Cottage that was the obvious choice to become our weaving room. We have two floor looms, a Louet Spring and a Glimakra Ideal. 'Spring' was bought new and is used mainly for the sheep rugs. Id was bought second hand (we had a fun hour or two transferring it in bits from one car to another in a car park on the north coast of Devon) and is around 30/40 years old. David restored it to its former glory and it is now the favoured loom for our alpaca rugs! We have the use of three spinning wheels: an Ashford e-spinner, an Ashford Classic Country spinner and a Schacht Flatiron. Aside from the looms and the wheels we have a variety of other essential goodies such as carding machines, wool combs, drawers full of brushes and needles and shuttles as well as the invaluable warping board - the essential start to every rug, used to count and measure all the warp threads!
